What is Uku Pacha?

In Uku Pacha, traditional filmmaking meets groundbreaking technology. This isn't just a VR film - it's a dynamic narrative that generates over 700 unique versions of the story, ranging from 14 to 27 minutes in length.
Using modular filmmaking techniques, we've created a system where each viewing experience is unique. The film reconstructs itself based on your chosen duration, crafting different narrative paths while maintaining the core story's integrity. Think of it as experiencing a recurring dream where events shuffle and reshape themselves, yet always lead to meaningful revelations.
The experience is available in stunning 8K virtual reality with ambisonic audio for festivals, while our online version offers pristine 4K quality. Whether you're viewing through a VR headset, on your mobile device, or your computer, you'll be immersed in a technically groundbreaking yet emotionally resonant journey through the Andes.

The Andean concept (Uku Pacha as the world of the unconscious)

In Andean cosmology, reality exists in three interconnected dimensions: Hanan Pacha (the world above), Kay Pacha (the world of consciousness), and Uku Pacha (the underworld). Our story unfolds in Uku Pacha, the realm where spirits wander and life emerges, where time flows differently than in our world.
In this dimension, three days might pass while only one day elapses in Kay Pacha. This distorted time mirrors our characters' journey as they navigate through their shared guilt, trapped in a spiritual limbo that reflects the Andean understanding of moral transgression and redemption.
The old van traveling through the Andes becomes more than just a vehicle - it's a moving threshold between worlds, where our characters must confront their roles in a tragedy born from our modern world of viral misinformation, yet seeking resolution through ancient wisdom.
As the invisible fourth passenger, you'll witness their attempt to restore natural order and balance between these realms, embodying the Andean belief that spiritual healing requires acknowledging one's place in the greater cosmic order.

Synopsis

In an old van crossing the Andes, three strangers share a devastating secret. An influential person has committed suicide after becoming the victim of false information spread on social media, and someone holds them accountable. But who is truly responsible in our interconnected world of viral misinformation?
As a journalist, a marketing executive, and a young influencer wrestle with their roles in this tragedy, they find themselves summoned by the mysterious Mr. Owen into what appears to be an endless journey. Yet this is no ordinary road trip - they've entered Uku Pacha, the Andean realm of the unconscious where spirits wander seeking redemption.
You become the fourth passenger, an invisible witness to their struggle. With each viewing, you'll experience a different version of their story, mirroring the way our minds revisit and reinterpret memories in dreams. Every journey offers a new perspective on guilt, responsibility, and the possibility of redemption.
Like the spirits of Andean mythology who sought passage between worlds through caves and underground rivers, our characters must navigate their way through this liminal space. Their destination? Either acceptance and transition to Kay Pacha - the world of consciousness - or eternal wandering in their cycle of denial.

Innovation - Modular Filmmaking Reinvented

Uku Pacha represents the fourth iteration in an ongoing exploration of modular filmmaking. Through a fusion of virtual reality, non-linear narrative structures, and specialized algorithms, we've developed a system that generates hundreds of unique yet coherent versions of our story.

How It Works:
- The narrative was specifically written to allow scene shuffling while maintaining coherence
- Specialized algorithms arrange scenes and music to create each version
- Advanced metadata ensures proper scene sequencing
- The system produces a complete, unique film with each generation
8K resolution maximizes immersiveness in virtual reality

The Technical Achievement:
The film functions like memory itself, with scenes rearranging themselves while maintaining thematic and narrative integrity. Each viewing reveals new aspects of the story through:

8K Cinematic Virtual Reality
Ambisonic audio processing
Modular narrative construction

This approach represents a significant step forward in exploring how stories can be told in digital media, creating experiences that are both technologically innovative and emotionally engaging. The result is a film that uses its technical framework to enhance rather than overshadow its storytelling.
