ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Diego Bonilla is an expert in mass communications and technology literacy, holding a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Syracuse University, an M.S. in Media Management from its Joint Degree program, and a B.A. in Business Administration from ITAM in Mexico City. His extensive experience spans across academia, consulting, and the nonprofit sector. He has worked ICT literacy initiatives at California State University and served as a council member for the California Open Education Resources Council.
As a dedicated educator and artist, Dr. Bonilla has taught at institutions such as Syracuse University, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and California State University, Sacramento, covering topics like digital media creation, electronic literature, computer-mediated communication, and information management. In his role at the California Open Education Resources Council, he contributed to the selection of target courses for acquiring open educational resources and the establishment of a competitive funding process for creating high-quality, affordable materials.
In his career, Dr. Bonilla has consistently demonstrated his commitment to advancing technology literacy through research, teaching, professional activities, and artistic endeavors. He has published numerous articles, prologues, and books, and presented his research at international conferences. His creative approach to technology has led to innovative work in areas such as hypermedia storytelling, proposing innovative ways for people to engage with digital content.
